Xpad is a cool little pad that goes under your laptop. This allows you to use your laptop on your lap, keeping it COOLER. I mean, it does bring the temperature on your lap down quite a lot, but the success rate here is probably directly dependent on how much heat your laptop generates and how sensitive your lap is to heat. In my case I have a 2007 Toshiba Satellite. Check it out at amazon, it’s totally worth it, in my opinion. I’ve had it for about a month and I’m loving it.
Rhapsody is an internet music program that allows you to listen to music YOU WANT from anywhere. I pay something around $12 a month, and it’s great. Initially I had planned to just try it out and cancel the service after the trial period terminated, but I was surprised by the amount and quality of music available. I have to say, programming and listening to music is almost a MUST for me, so this service is just great. I mean, you can create your own music libraries based on the stuff you like, you can listen to albums that were just released (like OBZEN by Meshuggah or Inflikted by Cavalera Conspiracy). I mean, pay $12 a month and listen to what you want, pay $15 a month and download mp3s to your mp3 player. Way better than anything out there (correct me if I’m wrong!).
What I’ve been listening to lately…
Here’s some of the bands I’ve been listening to in rhapsody:
